The film follows Harry, a recent drama graduate preparing nervously for his first professional audition. After embarrassing himself in front of the casting director, he retreats to his dressing room to rehearse his monologue from Shakespeare’s Hamlet: “To be or not to be.”
But his solitude doesn’t last long. One by one, ghosts representing every aspect of his anxiety and self-doubt begin to appear — the costume ghost, the sound ghost, the stage fright ghost, and even Shakespeare himself. They berate, mock, and critique him, reflecting his own inner insecurities and fears.
The story builds toward a powerful realization as Harry confronts his inner critic, battling the voices that threaten to sabotage his passion. It’s a witty, heartfelt exploration of artistic pressure, performance anxiety, and self-acceptance.
This project is perfect for actors who enjoy physical and character-based comedy, introspective storytelling, and the energy of student film collaboration.
