Storyline: 'Freebird' follows Tyler, a prison escapee desperate to see his dying grandmother one last time before she passes away. On the run through the landscapes of New South Wales, Tyler’s journey becomes a haunting reflection on love, loss and the irreversible passage of time.

Haunted by memories of his childhood self, Tyler is forced to confront the choices that led him to this moment. As he nears his grandmother’s home, the lines blur between hope and despair in this deeply human exploration of redemption and second chances.

This 7-minute short film is designed for the festival circuit, including Tropfest 2026, and combines powerful performances with striking cinematography to tell an intimate and emotional story.
