Terms and conditions

1) You understand that Fame Street offer two membership levels - Standard membership, which is a free service and Gold membership which is paid for subscription based service that includes standard membership benefits plus access to the Gold member’s area which displays full application details of all the current opportunities available at any given time

2) If you upgrade to Gold membership as a model or an aspiring model then you agree to pay Fame Street a monthly subscription fee to provide details of publicly available work for film extras, actors, singers & dancers (not models) displayed in the Gold members area. Due to current UK legislation, Fame Street do not publish any details of opportunities or work aimed at models or the modeling industry anywhere on the website and never participate in external events or promotions concerning models or aspiring models. Under UK law, It is currently not lawful to charge any 'up front' fees for models or aspiring models seeking modeling work and therefore, to comply and respect UK legislation, Fame Street do not publish any auditions, casting calls or opportunities for models or the modeling industry. If you are an aspiring model you are welcome to a free online profile but can only apply for opportunities related to acting, singing, dancing and some other similar genres but not modeling.

2a) As a member you understand that the law states that in the UK you cannot be charged an upfront fee by someone for finding you work, however there are exceptions aimed specifically at the entertainment industry. It is legal to charge a reasonable fee for inclusion into an online directory ( excluding models) that includes providing information of publicly available opportunities aimed at actors, singers and dancers etc although this does not apply toward models and modeling opportunities and those seeking work as a model.

3) As a Gold member, you understand that Fame Street collates and publishes full details of opportunities within a special 'Gold members area' which is only accessible to Gold members and that Fame Street has no relationship or connection with any company listed or opportunity within the Gold member area. Fame Street also has no personal relationship with any member and will not enter into one beyond offering general help and advice

4) Registration and ongoing membership of Standard membership of Fame Street is free. Standard members are under no obligation to upgrade to Gold membership.

5) Gold membership is a subscription based service. You will be charge every 1 month, 3 months or 6 months depending on the package you choose until you cancel your membership. Fame Street cannot offer pro-rata refunds or money back for unused subscription periods. It is the responsibility of the member to cancel their subscription payments using the methods shown on the comprehensive support pages. Gold members will understand that it is not Fame Street's responsibility to cancel a gold members subscription payment but may do so on request should the Gold member not be able to do so through their PayPal or WorldPay account.

6) Fame Street will take no money from you for 30 days when entering into a subscription plan. You will have the right during this 30 day period to withdraw from your Gold membership without penalty.

7) With regards to your free standard membership online profile, you will have complete access to any information shown or held about you and you will have 7 days to object to any content shown. You will not be charged until the end of the 7 days or before any reasonable objections have been dealt with (even if the 30 day period has passed)
 

8) Canceling your membership: If you wish to cancel your membership, you will need to log into your PayPal account to cancel payments as the 'cancel' button on the Fame Street website only relates to cancellation of your online profile. If you did not join by PayPal then login to your WorldPay account and click 'cancel payments'

9) By subscribing to Gold membership by way of payment, you agree to pay Fame Street Ltd the agreed subscription fee until you cancel your membership and will understand fully that Fame Street does not issue refunds to members that have had their gold membership automatically renewed. All gold members understand in full that Fame Street may not in general issue a pre-warning that a subscription fee is due to be taken and Gold members will not ask for or expect a refund, either in full or partial when this situation arises

10) If you are aged 16 or under then you will need expressed permission of a parent or guardian to upgrade to Gold membership. Fame Street are not obliged to issue a refund if a parent has allowed their child to use their debit / credit card or PayPal account. If a child (16 or under) has used their parents debit / credit card or PayPal account without their parents permission then this is an issue between the parent and child. Fame Street will not issue a refund in these instances.

11) Refund policy: By upgrading to Gold membership you fully agree to the following refund policy: Fame Street will not issue a refund in the following circumstances.

  a) A Gold member has 'forgot' that they subscribed to a payment plan

  b) A Gold member has used someone's PayPal account or debit / credit card without that persons permission (unauthorized transaction) This would need to be taken up with the authorities as a fraud case. If your PayPal / debit / credit card has been used without permission by someone your know or someone 16 or under then you agree that Fame Street are not responsible and will not issue a refund.

  c) A Gold member was unaware that they were on a subscription plan. Fame Street make it very clear on the sign up form and on the payment form that Fame Street is a subscription service and will not make any refunds in this instances

  d) A Gold member believes that they had previously cancelled. Gold members can cancel their payments at any time using the instructions in the support pages

  e) You have upgraded to Gold membership on the 4 free trial and have not cancelled before the end of the free trial. If you have not cancelled during the free trial then you will be automatically charged the annual fee of £49.95. Please do not request a refund under these circumstances as unfortunately your request will be denied. This is in line with the agreed terms and conditions

  f) A gold member has not heard back from an opportunity that they have applied for

 
12) Because Fame Street is not an agency, we will never negotiate or enter into any contract on behalf of any member or 3rd party.

13) Fame Street has many hundreds of pages of content and as such, the words 'agent, agency and agencies' may appear in various articles and advice. If these terms are on the website, it will be in the general context of content and in no way implies that we are in any way connected to an agency and is never intended to mislead anyone that we may be an agency.

 
14) We will never receive or request funds from anyone on behalf of any member or anyone else. Should any funds be sent to us on behalf of any member for any reason, whether by accident or design, they will be returned to the sender without delay.

 
15) We will never request or accept, other than subscription to the 'paid for' area of www.famestreet.com any fees or commissions of whatever nature from any member

  
16)  Fame Street cannot guarantee the authenticity of all the opportunities on the website. Many companies including high profile organizations send us opportunities and whilst we carry out all necessary checks, we cannot guarantee that every opportunity is genuine due to a variety of reasons. Such reasons may include the following: An opportunity may become expired without us being informed by the production companies that sent it, competitors trying to discredit the website or simply 3rd party error.

 
17) You will inform us if any advertiser requests an upfront fee, of whatever nature. You understand that paying any advertiser any 'upfront' fee, for whatever reason, is at your own peril and is not recommended by Fame Street

 
18) Fame Street may contain advertising material and / or promotions of third parties and links to the websites of third parties (Advertising). Such third parties are solely responsible for the content of such advertising and for the information, products and services on their websites. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility for the advertising, information, products or services of third parties, including, without limitation, any errors, omissions or inaccuracy.
 
19) Some opportunities may not be relevant to you. Some opportunities may be governed by special terms and where this is the case, you are advised to read these carefully as such special terms will take precedence over any conflicting terms in this agreement.
 
20) Fame Street Ltd reserves the right to remove someone's profile without explanation if they have posted offensive, racist, illegal or untrue material within their profile.

 
21) You shall be permitted to upload and manage your own profile. Profiles shall be of a personal nature and not contain material that could be used for trade or political purposes.

 
22) Any material sent to Fame Street in respect of opportunities appearing on Fame Street will be returned to the sender immediately.

 
23) You understand that sometimes an opportunity provider will end the opportunity without pre warning us and that opportunity could still be published on the website until it's removal. You understand that Fame Street is not responsible for any gold members applying to an opportunity that has expired, although Fame Street do make every effort to keep all opportunities up to date.

 
24) Fame Street is governed by UK law and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
