Glamour Modelling - An Introduction
Becoming a glamour
model is the fastest route to modelling
success. First brought into the public
domain in the 1960's through adult
magazines such as Playboy with ultra
sexy icons such as Marylyn Monroe,
glamour modelling is now ingrained in
our everyday lives in media, television
and music videos and is the most
marketed and popular form of modelling
in the world today. This is due to the
massive exposure given to this type of
model in the press. Sex sells and
magazine and newspaper editors know this
and many publications build their weekly
stories based around glamour models and
sexy celebrity 'babes' with the UK's
most famous being Katie Price. Glamour
modelling is also the easiest from of
modelling to break into as there are
many publications crying out for the
next 'Jordan' with top shelf magazines
willing to pay money for glamour shots
to just about any attractive female over
18 years of age.
There are types of glamour modelling
that ranges from photographic shoots for
high street retailers modelling lingerie
to 'top shelf' magazine work that will
be mainly full nudity. Glamour modelling
focuses mainly on the female body and
usually shot in a sexually provocative
manner. Surprisingly, glamour modelling
is not restricted to females as there
are many 'mirroring' publications' aimed
at women that depict male glamour models
such as 'Playgirl"
To become a glamour model, you would
need to be reasonably attractive and
feel that your look would appeal to men.
Some glamour models enhance their
'assets' and this can be very marketable
(think Katie Price) but the natural look
is just as popular.
